Casalvia

A sanctuary in the Aitana Mountains

Note on professional activity

Casalvia is a personal, passion project and private residence. It represents a "building in public" journey of restorative architecture and village life. This project is managed on a personal basis and is entirely distinct from my professional consultancy and advisory services at Diego Sartori Hospitality Advisory.

The vision

A childhood dream, revived

Casalvia is an intimate sanctuary in Sella, Spain, where the grit of the mountain path meets the wisdom of restorative rest.

Sella sits in the foothills of the Aitana range — the highest peak in the province of Alicante — surrounded by almond groves, terraces, and silence. It is precisely the kind of place that asks something of you, and gives something back.

The project is a long-term restoration of a historic village property, guided by the belief that spaces have memory — and that memory, tended carefully, becomes sanctuary.

The project

Three pillars

01

Stay

A high-performance base for climbers, cyclists, hikers, and purposeful travellers. Designed around the rhythm of the ascent and the necessity of recovery — where everything you need is ready before you ask.

  • Designed for athletes and active guests
  • Recovery-first approach to hospitality
  • Access to Aitana range routes and trails
02

Interiors

In collaboration with Studio Hermanides, applying "timeless eclecticism" to heritage spaces — ensuring every room tells a story. The mountain vernacular is preserved; the comfort is uncompromising.

  • Heritage architecture, contemporary comfort
  • In collaboration with Studio Hermanides
  • Every room with a distinct character
03

Home Management

A boutique model of care for second-home owners in the Costa Blanca interior — rooted in the local community. The kind of service that makes an absent home feel present and cared for.

  • Trusted care for absent owners
  • Rooted in the local community
  • Transparent, personal, hands-on
